In “The Interlopers” by Saki, Ulrich and Georg view each other as interlopers, outsiders in truding on their land and their lives. Think about a time whenyou felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes? (Sept 16)

The time I felt like an Interloper was when I went out with my friend to an event, and some people that we always see at school were there too, but it seemed like they were only speaking to my friend instead of both of us. It wasn't a nice feeling that night; the situation just affected me personally. Obviously, I could not blame my friend; it wasn't her fault.

Summary: Worked in Common Lit.

Reflection: The story was interesting, sort of gave me some advice I need as well.

Today, you learned how to complete a rhetorical analysis planning guide step by step, from identifying the rhetorical situation to analyzing devices and effects. Reflect on one step of the rhetorical analysis process that helped you understand the process more clearly. Explain what you learned during that step and how it improved your ability to analyze a speaker’s message.

Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).
