How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation.

The film definatly deepen my understanding of Chris McCandless decsions compared to the book because the film shows his upbringing first and its in first people, we can hear his thoughts, and tell his emotions but the flim is different form the book Carine McCandless is seen as the person narratoring throught Chris journey instead of Krakauer it reminds me of when I read Charlotte´s Web in elementary and then reading it in Middle School both teachers anazlyed the book difererntly this caused me to understand the book more  by connecting what both teachers explained the book.  Summary: film  Reflection: The flim does a good job at visualing his upbringing.

Chris and his sister Carine McCandless had a very close relationship, even when he struggled to connect with others. Write about a relationship in your life where you feel truly understood. Explain what makes that relationship strong and how it compares to the connection between Chris and Carine in Into the Wild.

The relationship between my best friend and me is a relationship where I feel truly understanding I could talk to her about anything without judgment from her, it’s the same way how McCandless feels towards Carine he can talk to her about anything and she will truly understand him. Summary: read chapter 13.  Reflection: I like Carine and Chris relationship it makes sense for them to be close because of their upbringing.

10. When something stays on your mind for a long time, how do you typically deal with it? What helps you move forward? (pg. 122)

I deal with it by building up my courage to address the problem, I will speak up if something is bothering me because if I don’t I tend to lash out on other people who don’t deserve it. My mom influences me to always speak my mind because she does that same as all she also always tells my keeping anger inside is not good for me.  Summary: absent  Reflection:absent

Based on the first 40 minutes of the film and Chapters 1–11 of the book, does the visual version of Chris’s journey make his choices seem more justified or more reckless than the text does? Explain how the medium (film vs writing) shapes your perspective.

The visual makes McCandless choices justified because it’s in chronological order so it shows the family dynamics between each other explains why he wanted to become isolated.  Summary: film  Reflection: I like both the film and book.

Think about a moment when your understanding of your family changed as you got older. How did that shift impact your perspective, and how does that connect to Chris’s realization about his parents in Chapter 11?

I realized as I got older that my family is bigger then what i use to think back when i was younger I saw more family members the more and more I got older and with that I understood why my dad decided to move to America. It made me I have more respect for my dad and to see all he has done for me.  Summary: read chapter 11  Reflection; seems like McCandless knew who he was at a young age.

Reflect on your reading of Into the Wild chapters 1–10. Which chapter stood out to you the most, and why? In your response, explain what specifically made this chapter meaningful, interesting, or impactful. You may consider elements such as McCandless’s actions, a key event, a theme, or Krakauer’s storytelling.

Chris McCandless rejects a traditional path of success and instead defines success on his own terms through freedom, experience, and personal meaning. Reflect on what success means to you at your current stage in life. In the response, explain how success is currently defined (grades, college acceptance, achievements, happiness, etc.) and where those ideas come from. Then, consider whether that definition truly reflects personal values or if it is shaped by expectations from family, school, or society.

To me currently success is finding out top 3 collages I am interested in, passing all my classes with As, being happy and graduating with honors. Success is defined as having good grades, being happy in life overall and being able to say that I participated in school activities I’ve always felt like I was successful even when I failed at something because I know that I tired my best. This definition reflects on my self values and family expectations because my family wants what is best for me and so do I. Summary: Into the Wild chapter 9-10   Reflection: I wonder if McCandless truly knew he was never coming back, did he plan it.

Chris chooses independence over relationships. When have you chosen to be on your own instead of relying on others? What happened, and would you make the same choice again?

When I wanted to go to Atlanta beltline with my friends to skate and ride our bikes but my friends were acting a little funny everything time the conversation was brought up so I just woke up one day and decided I don’t need them to have a good time or go to Atlanta Beltline, I went myself and meet new people as well that’s when I realized choosing independence is not a selfish thing at times. Summary: chapter 8 questions  Reflection: I like chapter 8 showing how different over the years before McCandless are related.

For most of you, yesterday you took the SAT. If you did not, you will take it before you leave high school. What is your desired SAT score? Identify your top three colleges and explain why each school appeals to you.

My desired SAT score is a 1400 and above so I can get into Albany State University, Clark Atlanta University, or Emory University  Albany State- A HBCU and the offer the associate progrem I want to do.  Clark Atlanta- I like their homcoming and the business programs they have  Emory University- I'm interested in their Bachelor of Medical Science in Medical Imaging.  Summary: Absent  Reflection: I could not take the SAT because of technical diffculty with bluebook or college board.

Twice a year we adjust our clocks for daylight saving time, but the change can affect our sleep, energy, and daily routines. Now that we have sprung forward; reflect on how this time change impacts you personally. Do you find it easy or difficult to adjust your schedule? Explain how the time change affects your mood, productivity, or daily habits.

I find daylight saving  esay to adjust in my schedule, I don't really feel the difference maybe it's because I go to sleep pretty early anyways. Time can change affect my mood in many ways like I could be more mood, emotional from not having enough sleep, and can make it harder for me to focus.  Summary: Chapter 6 of Into the Wild.  Reflection: Alex and Franz relationship is sad.

In Chapter 5 of Into the Wild, McCandless is strongly influenced by writers like Jack London, whose stories shape the way he thinks about adventure and wilderness. Has a book, song, musician, or artist ever influenced the way you think about life, goals, or the world around you? Identify the specific book, song, musician, or artist and explain how their ideas or message affected your thinking.

A book that influenced the way I think about my relationship with my younger sister is "Sisters" by Raina Telgemeier a book that showed Raina Telgemier complicated relationship with her younger sister, and as I read the book it showed how their relationship got better over time it give me hope for my relationship with my younger sister. Now we are best of friends.  Summary: Read Chapter 5 of Into the Wild  Reflection: This chapter was interesting.

n Into the Wild, Christopher McCandless gives up many of his possessions in pursuit of freedom and meaningful experiences. If you had to simplify your life and keep only a few important possessions, what would you keep and why? What would be hardest to leave behind?

If I had to simplify my life I would keep commuication with my family, my phone, clothes, and shoes becauses theses are things that I need mostly in my life everyday I can not live without theses possessions but the hardest thing to leave behind is my friendships.  Summary: Writable  Reflection: The more i read Into The Wild the more i want to understand Christophor McCandless.

After reading Chapter 1 of Into the Wild, consider your first impression of Christopher McCandless. Based solely on the events and details presented in this opening chapter, do you believe McCandless truly understood the risks he was taking when he entered the Alaskan wilderness? Why or why not?

After readinf the first chapter of Into The Wild my first imperssion of Christopher McCandless is that he is naive based on his converstation with Jim Gallien when dropping Alex (christopher McCandless) of into the far end of Denali National Park. I think Christopher McCandless did not understand the risk he was taking when he went into the Alaskan wilderness because he did not have the proper materials for the Alaskan.  Summary: read the chapter 1 of Into the Wild  Reflection: I like the book at first, I thought it was going to be boring.

Today you worked on creating your Vocabulary Digital Cards in Adobe Express. In one well-developed paragraph, reflect on the assignment by explaining which vocabulary word was easiest for you to understand, which word was most challenging, and how creating your own sentence and selecting an image helped strengthen your understanding of the vocabulary. Use specific examples from your work.

The vocabulary word that was easy for me to understand was indolent becasuse the definition is self explanatory everyone knows what lazy is indolent is just a another word to call someone lazy but the word that the hardest for me to understand was punitive the definition didn't really make sense to me but when i made a sentence it helped me understand the vovabulary word better also the pictures helpead the most because i had to look for a picture that matches the definition I had to fully understand the vocabulary word.  Summary: vocabulary digital cards  Reflection: I liked this vocabulary set of words.
