Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

I take a pause to appreciate the beauty of nature every day when I walk to the bus. I notice that in the summer, the trees were bright green, and the flowers bloomed. As fall approached, the leaves on the trees started to fall to the ground. I noticed the effects on plants every season.  Summary:  read a poem as a class and then start on reading a poem by ourselves to create a one-pager  Reflection: My poem was easy to understand. It's about a man who is very familiar with the night.

In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person? (Oct 28)

A time when I had to set a boundary with a friend was about sharing my clothes. Every time she would come over to my house, she would take some of my clothes and wouldn't give them back. So one day she took one of my favorite pieces of clothing, so I had set her down and told her to give me all my clothes back, and she can no longer take any of my clothes. Summary:  The common lit was okay  Reflection: took nap and then started working on the common lit

Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

Something that changed in my life quickly was that I was no longer given everything I asked for or wanted when I grew up. Even though I still sometimes get the things I ask for from my parents, it's different from how it was when I was 12 and under. I was not expecting that to change from me being spoiled to sort of being spoiled.  Summary:  We worked on 2 different poems. The first poem we did as a class, then the second was with our people at the table.  Reflection: I'm happy that I was able to understand the second we were on as a group, but individually, because most of the time I would not really understand the poems.

In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

My imagination helps me with a lot of things, such as stress, challenges, and boredom. To me, it's a way to sometimes solve my problems, like the what-ifs in my mind when I need to make a decision, and school stress.  Summary: Analyze and annotate the poem by Robert Frost, and start working on a project centered around the meaning of the poem.  Reflection: I like the poem. I can relate to it because sometimes I wish when I was younger, I hadn't said I can't wait to be a teenager, and now that I am, I see what it really is like.

As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

Pink is my favorite word right now, it's my favorite word because I like the way it's spelled, and for right now, pink is my favorite. I don't use the word pink that often as I use too.

Write about what you did over the Fall Break. (Oct 20)

My fall break was nothing really exciting, I played at lot of Roblox with my younger siblings so I liked the time we had to together since most of the time when we all come back from school we are too burnt out to talk or play. It was good at the end of the day  Summary: started reading abouta new poem writer  Reflection: the poem we read was good I liked it a lot.

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone. Oct 7

I had to step out of my comfort zone when I went to a event by myself and I had to step out my comfort zone to make friends because I used to be shy.  Summary: not here  Relectation: not

Write about a dream that felt real.

A dream that felt real was when I was craving a big burger from Five Guys, and as I fell asleep, I started to dream about how it would smell, the taste, and it was as if I could even hold the burger in my hand.  Summary: Independent work day  Reflection: Finished all my work in time, very proud of myself.

Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

I have always been curious about whether the afterlife is real or not, like what really happens when someone dies.  Summary: Worked on our argumentative paragraph.  Reflection: The paragraph was sort of kind of easy had fun writing my argument about cancel culture.

Write about the best gift you have received.

The best gift I received was a pink my little pony bike when I was in elementary school I loved it.  Summary: Learned about informal, and formal language when writing  Reflection: I like my unpopular opinion it’s something that I always thought about it.

Write about a conversation that changed you. (Sept 30)

A conversation that changed me was when I was having issues with my dad for a very long time. I just felt like one shouldn't say certain things to a teenager out of anger, and that was one of the things my dad would do, and i would always talk to my aunt about it until one day she said it doesn't matter what he says he's still your dad even if you try and tell him that he is wrong hes not in his eyes I should grow up and not be so sensitive about what my dad says. After that conversation with my aunt, I didn't talk back to my dad, cry in front of him, and I would try not to show any emotions when he would yell at me. It worked  Summary: was not here.  Reflection: went on a field trip.

Write about something that you believed as a child. (Sept 29)

When I was little I use to believe in this old African folktale my cousin will tell me when I was younger, the folktale was used to scare kids who did not want to sleep and when I was younger I did not want to sleep so my cousin would say gnomes with pointy hats will come and enter my ear and I would turn mad (a crazy person).  Summary:  Watch commercials to see which rhetorical triangle would best apply to each commercial that was shown.  Reflection: The commercials were funny after learning the ethos, pathos, and logos. I don't know if I'll ever  look at commercials again
