In 2–3 well-developed sentences, reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break. Then, identify four personal you would like to achieve this year and briefly explain why each goal is important to you (Copy and paste your completed response from Writable into your blog).

I spent my Holiday break with friends and family. The first week of the break, I was home for most of the time, playing games with my siblings, staying up all night, and watching movies, but the second week was spent with my friends. My friends and I had a sleepover for New Year's.

Goals

The first goal that I want to achieve this year is to pray 5 times a day. The goal is important to me because it will help me get closer to my religion. I plan to achieve this goal by first praying two times a day in January 2026, then 3 prayers in February. I will add one prayer each month until I get conditioned to praying more than once a day.

2. My second goal is to grow my hair 5 inches more. This goal is important to me because I want to feel comfortable with natural hair and for my hair to be healthy. To accomplish this goal, I will stop putting heat on my hair, wash my hair every 2 weeks, put oil on my scalp every week and get regular trims so my hair does not break off. By August 2026, my hair should have grown 5 or more inches.

3. My third goal is to stand up for myself more. This goal is important because it will improve my relationships. To accomplish this goal, I will start by speaking up about anything that doesn't sit right with me every day, also I will also have pep talks with myself.

4. My last goal is to build my clientele for my hair business. This goal is important because I will allow me to make more money and make new connections with people. To accomplish this goal, I will host deals, sales, and promote my hair page to people on all platforms. For Valentine's, I will do a deal like $100 for any size braids with hair included.

Today, you learned how to complete a rhetorical analysis planning guide step by step, from identifying the rhetorical situation to analyzing devices and effects. Reflect on one step of the rhetorical analysis process that helped you understand the process more clearly. Explain what you learned during that step and how it improved your ability to analyze a speaker’s message.

Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).
