In “The Interlopers” by Saki, Ulrich and Georg view each other as interlopers, outsiders in truding on their land and their lives. Think about a time whenyou felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes? (Sept 16)

The time I felt like an Interloper was when I went out with my friend to an event, and some people that we always see at school were there too, but it seemed like they were only speaking to my friend instead of both of us. It wasn't a nice feeling that night; the situation just affected me personally. Obviously, I could not blame my friend; it wasn't her fault.  Summary: Worked in Common Lit.  Reflection: The story was interesting, sort of gave me some advice I need as well.

It’s Homecoming Week! 🎉 What do you love most about being part of the Lakeside community? How do you show off your school spirit? What is your favorite Homecoming tradition or event?

I love how warm and fun the lakeside community is with people. I show off my school spirit by participating in spirit weeks, different types of clubs, and assemblies, and I think my favorite homecoming event is homecoming.  Summary:  We took a quiz on the poem we analyzed on Monday and then continued working on our poem poster  Reflection:   The quiz was pretty easy for the most part.  Even though I didn't have my poem with me to help with the quiz, I still passed without it.

10Which learning method do you enjoy the most? Class discussions, worksheet work, or hands-on actvities. Select one and tell why. ( Sept 10/11)

Learning methods that I enjoy the most are hands-on- activities because, rather than listening and trying to keep the information in my head, it's better for me to do a physical task to better get an idea of something and I would be more motivated to learn about the task.  Summary:   Today, we began creating  our poem poster.  Reflection:   I am still working on my poem; it's been getting easier the more I do it.

Which aspect of creating a poem do you enjoy the most? Tell what it is and explain why.

An aspect of creating a poem I enjoy the most is finding words to rhyme together and making a poem that you have to read to find out the overall meaning of it, because it makes the story more interesting and better.  Summary: Started on our poems today.  Reflection: I already know what I want to write about and what I will compare it to.

You are currently working on a soundtrack for selected Emily Dickinson poems. With that in mind, if asked to choose a song to describe your life right now, which song would you select and why? (Sept 5)

The song I would use to describe my life right now is "Lady Love" by Piero Piccioni. Because it just feels like everything is coming together how I want it to be, like a fairy tale, some of my New Year's resolutions came true, and the song is just a soft, calm, fairy tale vibe.  Summary: Today, we took our Dickinson quote quiz and then worked on Quote Analysis on illuminatie  Reflection: The test was kind of okay for the most but I have trouble understanding poems sometimes. I failed, but hopeful on the next quiz, I'll pass with more practice.

If you were to compose a poem about one aspect of your life, which topic would it fall into and what would your overall life's message be?

I would compose the many adventures, I had in Ghana like one time I was going to get flogged by a random person I don't, the little trips I took on a bike with the friends I made there. My overall message would be live life to the fullest take in every moment even if its bad or good.  Summary: Started working on the Emily Dickinson Ouote analysis.  Reflection: Didnt finish my soundtrack on time but I did it during 7th period and turned it in after I got home, the quotes seem a little hard but if you take it in bit by bit I started to understand.

You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far?

Class has been okay so far; people don't really engage like that, but I'm the same when it comes to things. The blogs I've been struggling with the most are the ones I've been trying to turn in on time. I still do it just like 1 day late.  Summary:  Read 3 poems by Emily Dickinson about death.  Reflection: The poems were deep and centered around death, so the poems really put you in a position to think about your life.

Describe one thing makes you different from other people (Aug 29)

One thing that makes me different from other people is that I am a big diy girl because I like doing things myself First, I didn't have anyone to do my hair, I wore a scarf all of 5th grade until COVID hit, I thought to myself why complain about something when you can do something about it so learned and ever since then I don't complain about things I can have control over. I do it myself.  Summary:  Read about Emily Dickinson  Relectation: Then worked on heart asssignment
