Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

So 2022, Thanksgiving, I went to my grandma's house to celebrate Thanksgiving, but instead of my grandma's cooking, her boyfriend's family did, the mac and cheese was disgusting; her boyfriend's family put tomato inside, which was unforgettable because it was disgusting  Summary-  Group quiz.  Reflection- I made a good grade.

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

Back in Middle school, these girls who did not like me added me to a group chat to talk about the dumbest thing ever, so instead of dealing with them, I removed myself from the group and blocked all the girls so they won't bother me anymore.  Summary: finished reading, then started on writable.  Reflection: simple day, straight-foward.

Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel? (Nov 18)

My first encounter with a homeless person was scary. I wish it were indirect, but instead, I had a direct encounter with a homeless person. I was walking to the bus stop when I saw a man walking with his clothes ruined, dirty, and unpleasing, and I saw him coming towards me. I didn't think anything of it until he got too close and was too tired to grab me. I managed to think fast and run to the bus stop, where there were people.

Write about what you are thankful for. (Nov 17)

I am thankful for my mom because she supports me in everything I do, and I can always come to her every time there is an issue. She's like my safety net. I wouldn't know what to do without her. Summary: Vocabulary Monday.  Reflection: Chill, easy day.

(Nov 12) In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

The gypsy rose case was one of the craziest news stories I have heard of. Basically Gypsy- Rose Blanchard worked together with her online boyfriend to murder her mom because of what her mom had done to her for 18 years of her life. Her mom's name was Dee-Dee. She wanted to be a caretaker, so she faked and induced illness in her daughter Gypsy Rose. The story stood out to me because it questioned my morality on whether murder can be justified. People were conflicted, some sided with the mom, and some sided with Gyspy Rose, it kind of shows how far some people would go to keep someone in their life.  Summary: Continue the short story, and then work on the worksheet  Reflection:

(Nov 11) Miss Emily’s house once represented pride and tradition, but over time it became a symbol of decay and isolation. Describe a place that holds deep memories for you—positive or negative—and explain how it reflects part of who you are or how you’ve changed over time.

A place that holds deep memories for me was my grandpa's mini Zoo in Ghana. I called it a mini zoo because all types of animals lived in the Zoo, like big tortoises, a peacock, flamingos, and an African grey parrot, and I would always go and feed the tortoises and talk to the African grey parrot. It was cool seeing a bird talk back to me.  Summary: Absent  Reflection: Absent

(Nov 10) Think about the vocabulary words from Lesson Two. Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better.

I haven't heard any words from lesson two vocabulary outside of the classroom.  Summary: Vocabulary lesson two  Reflection: It's interesting to learn new words that I haven't seen or heard of before.

(Nov 14) The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?

I don't remember when new information changed my perception of a person.  Summary: Pop quiz Reflection: The pop quiz was easy, I thought it was going to be complicated because I wasn't able to read the story all the way, but my group members were there to help.

Thinking about “The Rockpile,” which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior.

My dad is the strictest when it comes to discipline because whenever I got in trouble, my dad would scream at me and take my phone away, but then after he calmed down, he would come and talk to me and give me back my phone. This taught me that for every bad decision, there will be consequences.  Summary: pop quiz with group members  Reflection: Wasn't as hard as I thought.

(Nov 3) Words shape how we think, write, and interpret literature. Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger.

A word that helped me understand a text better was beginning. When I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade, I did not know what that word meant, just would always see it during reading time until I asked my teacher.  summary;  reflection:
